Born and raised in Los Angeles during the 1960’s and 70’s I took up photography at the age of twelve with a Kodak camera given to me by my grandmother.  With the advent of digital photography, I found I missed the tactile experience of working in a darkroom and the anticipation of what the photograph would reveal.  After my grandmother, an artist herself, died, I found myself gravitating toward painting.  Working with the materials seemed a natural fit for me.  After several years working in oil, I moved on to acrylics and mixed media.  Using my photographs along with graphite, pastel, and modeling gel I try to create a world from a captured moment in life.
